Oral history interview with Arthur W. Quiggle, 1974 Mar. 3.

Quiggle discusses his formal education and work experience, and the change of the H.H. King Co. from a flour mill to a grain storage house to an investment company. He speaks of his involvement in the development of the Creamette Co. from the Mother's Macaroni Co., and describes the process of milling flour and making macaroni. The effects of semolina and durum wheat on the flour industry are also discussed. Quiggle chronicles the history of the H.H. King Co., as well as the history of flour milling innovations.

Quiggle was born in Pelican Rapids, Minn. in 1890 and he died in April 1977. He attended Minneapolis Business College in 1908 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (1913) and a Masters degree (1914) in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota. He was general manager of the Creamette Co. 1914-1939, Vice President (1941-1956) and owner (1956-1977) of H.H. King Flour Mills Co. 1941-1956.
